About us
As the first and only Slavic studies student journal at the University of Edinburgh, the Akhmatova Review offers an annual publication of scholars in Scotland and beyond who produce works of merit within the field of Slavonic research. Due to limited publication outlets within Scotland addressing the Eurasian region, this review accepts pieces written on Eurasia in its most broad conception, welcoming works that analyze overlooked areas, such as the Baltic countries, Caucasia, and beyond.
The Akhmatova Review prioritizes the publication of undergraduate students to encourage youth advancement in the field of Slavonic studies; however, academics of all levels are able to submit. The Akhmatova Review is an open-access publisher.
“Rising from the past, my shadow
Is running in silence to meet me.”
― Anna Akhmatova
